Dogs in Corona Arch Trail

Can I bring my dog, and on which trails?
Dog-friendly

Leashed dogs are welcome on this popular Moab arch hike, unlike the trails inside nearby Arches National Park. Grand County requires dogs to be under restraint, so keep yours leashed.

The roughly 3-mile round trip to Corona and Bowtie arches allows leashed dogs, but there is a ladder and a steep cabled section near the arch. If your dog is too big to carry up, pick another hike.

Seasonal closures

Slickrock gets dangerously hot in summer and can exceed 100 degrees. Hike early or in the evening and bring extra water for your dog.

Leash rule

A 6-foot leash is required in developed recreation areas like campgrounds, trailheads, and picnic sites. On most of the open BLM land there is no leash law, but your dog must be under control at all times, and local field offices can set stricter rules.

Service animals

Service animals are allowed where pets are not, under the ADA. A leash is still required.
