Among walking trails, leashed pets are permitted only on the Doane Trail in Eastham and the Pilgrim Spring Trail in Truro. They are also allowed on all fire roads, on the Head of the Meadow bike trail year round, and on ocean beaches outside lifeguarded areas and shorebird closures.
All walking trails except Doane and Pilgrim Spring, the Nauset and Province Lands bike trails from May 1 to October 31, lifeguard-protected beaches in summer, West and Sunset horse trails, park trams, and posted shorebird nesting areas.
Recurring pet closures run annually April 1 through October 15 at Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Marsh in Eastham, Jeremy Point in Wellfleet, and Hatches Harbor and Herring Cove in Provincetown. Freshwater ponds are closed to pets May 15 to October 15. Additional shorebird closures change daily.
