Mount Hood National Forest wraps around Oregon's tallest peak, with Timothy Lake as its largest body of water. Dogs are welcome nearly everywhere except Timberline Lodge, public buildings, and swimming areas.

Dogs must be leashed on trails. The 13 mile Timothy Lake Loop follows the lakeshore past several campgrounds and is a popular outing. Around Timothy Lake pets are limited to two per site and must be leashed and with their handler.
